MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR NORTH CENTRAL REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS SITES

To insure that the North Central Regional Championships are maintained at the highest level possible, it is mandated that they be held in a rink or auditorium with the best possible facilities.

The following regulations and requirements will be mandatory for Regional Championships. Rules and/or regulations not specifically covered herein shall be provided by USARS, the National Governing Body in the current General Rules manual.

SKATING SURFACE

The skating *surface must be in excellent condition. All figure circles and/or speed markings must be accurate and clearly visible. Six sets of figure circles enabling the contest to run three (3) events simultaneously are required. In addition, six (6) loop sets would be optimum with four (4) minimum. These loop sets are to be independent of the six sets of figure circles.
*Special note: A wood surface is highly desirable but is not mandatory.

OFFICIALS

An adequate number of officials are required. For the 2004 North Central Regional Championships, the minimum number of out of region artistic judges is to be six (6): the minimum number of speed referees is to be four (4).

SEATING CAPACITY

The minimum number of seats in full view of the skating surface shall be equal to twice the number of total entries in the meet, as determined by the prior year's entry.

AIR CONDITIONING

Air conditioning must be adequate to provide a comfortable temperature during the maximum demand.

DRESSING ROOMS

Two dressing rooms, one for men / one for woman, separate from the restrooms must be provided. Mirrors and adequate seating room along with areas for the hanging of clothing are required.

LIGHTING, SOUND EQUIPMENT

The facility must have sufficient interior lighting along with a complete sound system. The artistic championships must be provided with a minimum of two (2) cassette players and one (1) CD Player.

PARKING

Adequate parking is essential.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

No event may begin prior to 6:00 a.m., and no event shall finish later than 1:00 a.m. Exceptions under special circumstances must be applied for and received in writing from USARS national headquarters.

NO SMOKING POLICY

A no smoking policy shall be in effect for the entire building in which a regional or national roller skating championship is conducted.
